STROKE MEDICINE

Dr James Scott
MBBS  MSc  FRCP

Dr Scott is Consultant Stroke Physician at University of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.  He is currently clinical lead for stroke medicine and has led development of the new hyper-acute stroke service for Sourthern Derbyshire and East Staffordshire.

During his  specialist training Dr Scott completed an MSc in Quality and Safety in Healthcare at the Centre for Patient Safety and Service Quality, Imperial College London. This included a medicolegal module on the role of the expert witness and the production of high-quality expert witness reports.

Dr Scott keeps up to date via regular training in medico-legal matters.  He is able to give opinion on all matters relating to stroke and transient ischaemic attack (TIA) as well as matters relating to general and acute medicine. He aims to revert to solicitors within 6 weeks of instruction.
